Rotary Gear Selector Stuck. Well after praising my MY14 D4 SC Disco to all..it's already let us down😐. Wife went shopping and when parked could not select P with the rotary selector which was jamned up in D. The D symbol was flashing and the green range light came on and off. Later a gearbox failure message came up on the display.
First one and most common is the ABS brake system not responding to other modules on the network. Could be a broken or shorted network wire, power or ground, or the module itself. The other thing I have seen do that is a faulty locking rear diff motor. It's not all the diff motor faults that will bring it to bumpstops.

Suspension Issues Due to Faulty Vehicle Height Sensor. The most reported issue linked to the 2005-2009 Land Rover LR3’s air suspension problems is its faulty vehicle height sensor. It may fail, deactivating its air suspension feature. Some owners have shared that the most common sign of sensor failure is an illuminated suspension fault light.
The last 3 days have become full time faults. The car will not reset and clear and the suspension remains lowered. Narrowed it down to this. The faults and suspension drop occur after I start car and let my foot off the brake peddle. Hold the brake down and suspension airs up fine and compressor turns off when bags are full.
If your suspension fault message does say “Normal Height Only”, you most likely can drive to a local service station without any additional damage to your Land Rover. British Autoworks recommends, at the very least, a fault code retrieval of your suspension system. These suspension faults will guide us to problem.
If you get the Amber suspension warning light within the first few minutes of starting the engine it could be a broken compressor exhaust valve like the one
1. Turn off the vehicle. Let it sit for 20 min. 2. Remove the cables from the battery. I'd again let it sit for 20 min. 3. Electrically connect the two battery cables (you can use a length of wire or jumper cables). Leave them connected for 15 min.
