On July 12 2011 A Dance With Dragons released. I remember picking the book up and reading it in between seasons 1 and 2 of the show, and wondering what was going to happen in the next book. Now 10 years later, I never thought I would still be asking that question. This George RR Martin writing philosophy is kind of unique compared to other authors. Where other authors have story beats outlined out that need to be hit Martin allows the character to guide the story. This is what, IMO, makes the series of books great.
